Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will primarily work within the mixing room, dedicating approximately 90% of your time to compounding medications upon receipt of orders. This role is crucial in ensuring that nurses have the necessary medications to administer to patients. You will also be responsible for taking inventory of medications and supplies, placing orders for medication, and compounding chemo, some irons, and pre-medications, typically preparing 20-30 bags per day. Responsibilities + Compound medications, primarily in the mixing room. + Take inventory of medications and supplies. + Place orders for medications. + Prepare and compound chemo, some irons, and pre-medications, typically 20-30 bags daily. + Read and interpret orders accurately. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of mixing experience (even a year is acceptable). + Experience in pharmacy and IV compounding. + Ability to read and interpret orders. + Strong punctuality. + Ability to work independently. + Must hold a pharmacy tech license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Oncology experience preferred. + Experience in iron mixing, biologics handling, and drug dilution is advantageous. Work Environment The position operates Monday through Friday, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work environment involves being the sole pharmacy technician on site, collaborating with a team of 5-7 nurses and technicians in a leading cancer treatment center. The setting offers a smaller, close-knit environment with opportunities for immediate feedback from management and potential for growth. The facility is part of a network that includes more than 90 cancer specialists, serving 23,000 new patients annually. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colts Neck, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $31.00/hr.
