Job Description: The Dairy Farm Animal Breeder is responsible for managing the reproduction of dairy livestock to improve herd genetics, milk production, and overall animal health. This role involves selecting breeding pairs, monitoring reproductive cycles, assisting with artificial insemination, and caring for pregnant animals and offspring. Key Responsibilities: Select and breed dairy livestock based on genetic traits, milk production, and physical characteristics. Monitor reproductive cycles and assist with artificial insemination or natural breeding. Maintain detailed records of lineage, health, and productivity of breeding stock. Oversee care of pregnant animals and newborn calves to ensure optimal health and survival. Administer vaccinations and medications as needed to maintain herd health. Collaborate with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize breeding outcomes and ensure optimal nutrition, housing and medical care Evaluate offspring for desired traits and determine suitability for future breeding. Ensure ethical treatment and welfare of all animals in accordance with industry standards.
