If you're a confident communicator with strong problem-solving skills and leadership abilities, we want to hear from you.Position Purpose:Off-Shift Assistant Manager, Equipment Maintenance, where you'll oversee equipment maintenance activities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You'll provide expertise and direction for technicians, coordinate maintenance requests, and prioritize activities based on urgency and resource availability. Your role will be crucial in maintaining preventive maintenance and uptime goals.Key Responsibilities:Maintain current understanding of equipment repair and upkeep.Provide guidance and direction for technicians.Ensure preventive maintenance and uptime goals are met.Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities.Recommend equipment upgrades or modifications.Lead department employees in staffing, motivation, communication, training, performance management, health and safety, workflow management, and external relations.Technical Competencies- Equipment MaintenanceMaintain a current understanding of equipment repair and upkeepProvides a level of expertise and direction for all direct reports in the repair and resources to keep equipment online.Ensures preventive maintenance and Uptime goals are metProvides training and development through current knowledge or outside resources to technicians.Facilities Operations LeadershipCreate and maintain department budget and performance objectivesMake purchases within budgetary authoritySecure resources to address and resolve technical or equipment problems as required to support smooth day to day operationsMust be available 24/7, for any issues that may arise.StaffingParticipates in or leads hiring & termination of department employees.Selects employees for special assignmentsMotivation and CommunicationReadily accessible and surfaces & addresses issues of importance to employeesSurfaces trends & acts as a guide to available company resourcesCommunicates plans, instructions, and updates verbally and in writingUnderstands & shares tactical plans & related strategies.Working knowledge and ability to represent company policies & proceduresTraining/DevelopmentProven ability to identify talent & develop plans to support employee growthMakes assignment, promotion, & compensation recommendationsPlays a key role in the development of training initiativesPerformance Management/SafetyDevelops and implements employee programs (safety, recognition, fun, etc.)Provides daily feedback (+/-) regarding quality and quantity of workLeads safety related initiativesWrites and delivers appraisalsManages all aspects of employee performance up to recommending termination in cases of poor performanceWorkflow/External RelationsUnderstand area workflow and action needed to meet production goalsManages area in keeping with financial targetsUnderstand upstream & downstream impacts & works with other areas as needed to meet business objectivesInventory management:Based on technical awareness maintains and recommends appropriate spare parts and supply inventories to meet our outlined goals.Technically aware of resources to provides repairs and inventory.Tracks inventory availability and adjusts in stock levels to maintain inventory position.Capital projects:Builds the capital plan based on age and condition of equipment.Maintains shop equipment through capital replacement plans.Stays current with the industry through the capital process.Asset management, birth through replacement.Contractor ManagementManages vendor relationships for the quick response and uptime of contract covered equipment.Oversees contracts and service agreements with service providers.Additional Computer Proficiencies CMMS, SRM/SAP, IBOSS, INFO-LINKHealth and Safety RequirementSkills and QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred.5+ years of leadership experience.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.Ability to work with outside vendors and services.Demonstrated leadership ability and critical thinking skills.If you care about the outdoors, joining L.L.Bean is a great way to feel good about what you do.
