This role includes patient preparation, positioning, and ensuring the accurate acquisition of CT images while adhering to radiation safety protocols. The CT Technologist works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic images in an acute care hospital setting.Essential FunctionsPerform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfortVerify patient identity and obtain relevant clinical history before initiating proceduresPrepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a radiologistOperate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretationMaintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR)Practice radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposureAssist in quality control procedures, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenanceRespond to emergency situations, including contrast media reactions, and provide appropriate careCollaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff to optimize patient careParticipate in ongoing education and training to maintain ARRT certification and stay current with best practicesKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsStrong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, CT protocols, and imaging techniquesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to operate CT equipment and related software systemsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentationAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environmentDemonstrates commitment to continuous learning and professional developmentQualificationsEducationGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology requiredAssociate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology preferredLicenses/CertificationsARRT certification in Radiography (R) requiredARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) requiredLicensed as a Radiologic Technologist and/or CT Technologist as required by the State of practice(Wyoming)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredExperienceMinimum of 1-2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, including CT procedures preferredExperience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
