Human Resources GeneralistDepartment: Human Resources Program: Human Resources Reports To: Human Resources Director Employment Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/ 52 Weeks Preference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638Job SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist will assist with employee relations to support the Tribe's workforce. The Human Resources Generalist will have administrative, analytical, and communication skills. An HR generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with organizational conflict management skills and will help with essential functions such as staffing, compensation administration, job analysis, performance management, and assisting the Director of Human Resources with special projects.Essential FunctionsCollaborate with all departments across the Tribe to identify budgeted personnel needs and then develop detailed and compliant job descriptionsAssist with internal and external employee relations matters and organizational chart changesParticipate in developing organizational guidelines and proceduresMaintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectivesProvide employee relations support for employees and managers, including resolving issues to foster positive employer-employee relationshipsRecommend and develop employee relations practices that foster a positive work environmentConduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on dataEnsure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and state requirements and conducting investigationsFacilitate scheduled performance review process, providing guidance, tools, and training for managers and employeesEnsures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies, and TERO ordinanceIt is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.
