This is a unique opportunity to help lay the foundation for an emerging archive at a dynamic and growing community college. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Library Services and the Collection Management Librarian, you’ll assess, organize, and describe materials that capture the story of CWI-while establishing scalable practices that will guide the archive into the future. Key Responsibilities: Establish Foundational Archival Processing and Organization Practices + Conduct preliminary assessments of materials to determine archival value, scope, and research relevance. + Arrange, describe, and rehouse archival materials in accordance with professional standards, establishing consistent local practices. + Create initial inventories, accession records, and baseline finding aids for emerging collections. + Develop simple, scalable description templates to support the long-term growth of the archive. + Create consistent descriptive metadata for collections and materials. Develop and Document Core Archival Policies and Workflows + Draft and document foundational archival workflows, policies, and procedures, including collection development criteria, accessioning, processing, and handling guidelines. + Contribute to the creation of sustainable, repeatable processes that support ongoing archival operations.
