The incumbent makes the initial diagnosis of equipment problems, prepares and processes work orders, schedules preventative maintenance and repairs, acts as a liaison between the CVMF and user departments, and assists in the maintenance of the computerized fleet information management system. Fleet Service Writers exercise some independent judgement in solving work problems, and receive general supervision from a manager. The position may direct the work of a clerical staff as assigned. Performs related work as required. This is a Competitive Class position. The individual selected to fill this vacancy will be given a provisional appointment and will be required to participate in the next Civil Service Examination for this title.
