Summary: + MRI Technologist interprets a physicians script / order, explains procedure to patients, select software options and imaging parameters whenadjusting an MRI machine. Views images from a work station and post processes procedure and sends to PACS for Radiologist interpration. Thetechnologist will assist patients to the MRI suite, position patients on the table for their imaging. Responsibilities: + ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + 1. Ensures safety by screening all patient's, staff and visitors prior to coming in contact with the powerful magnetic field of an MRI scanner. + 2. Explain procedures, answer patient's questions as fully as possible and provide emotional support. + 3. Position patients and coils on the table that slides inside the MRI scanner. + 4. Recognize and respond to life threatening situations. + 5. Routinely check scanners and related equipment. + 6. Follow all safety procedures for self, patients and machinery. + 7. Must be able to communicate effectively with patient prior and during exam. + 8. On-call Responsibilities. + OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + 1. Assures appropriate patient screening prior to MRI exam. + 2. Assures all screening forms are completed prior to patient entering MRI room. + 3. Checks any contraindications with a radiologist prior to MRI exam. + 4. Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed. + 5. Prepares patient for MRI scans, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, positions and assists patient at end of procedure. + 6. Consistently demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures. + 7. Observes patient and equipment during procedure, reports unusual occurrences and records patient's condition. + 8. Follows all safety instructions provided in policy manual and safety manual provided by Marconi Medical Systems. + 9. Contacts supervisor of section and service engineer immediately when there is any question referring to malfunction of system. + 10. Provides appropriate imaging quality using the approved protocols under the direction of a radiologist. + 11. Maintains professional, courteous and cooperative manner with patients, co-workers, and public. + 12. Follows procedures for clerical and administrative tasks related to job. + 13. Exercises initiative as appropriate in performance of duties. + 14. Demonstrates a working knowledge of QCPR and Isite Systems and completes documentation of exams. + 15. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. + 17. Demonstrates growth in MRI field. Attends appropriate continuing education programs to maintain/develop skills and knowledge. + 18. Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department. Credentials: + Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required) + Radiologic Technologist Education or Equivalent Experience: + Other + Education Specialization:Graduate from an approved and accredited School of Radiology.Equivalent Experience:u2022And MRI experience.
