The Backup Administrator provides operational support for enterprise backup and recovery platforms, primarily Rubrik , Dell EMC Avamar , and PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) . The role focuses on dayu2011tou2011day operations, incident and problem resolution, backup monitoring, and recovery support, working closely with L1 support, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure data protection services meet defined SLAs. Responsibilities: + Provide Level 2 operational support for enterprise data protection platforms: Rubrik, Dell EMC Avaman, and PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM). + Monitor backup and replication jobs, identify failures, and perform rootu2011cause analysis. + Troubleshoot backup, restore, and replication issues across: Virtual environments (VMware, Hyperu2011V), Physical servers and Database workloads (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server u2013 where applicable). + Perform restore and recovery operations. + Ensure backup policies, schedules, retention, and SLAs are correctly implemented. + Resolve incidents and service requests escalated from L1 support within agreed SLAs. + Perform trend analysis and contribute to problem management by identifying recurring issues. + Participate in change activities, including Backup policy updates, agent upgrades, platform maintenance and patching (non-design level). + Create and update operational documentation and runbooks. Skills & Qualifications: + 3u20136 years of experience in backup, data protection, or infrastructure operations. + Prior experience in an L2 support role within an enterprise environment preferred. + Handsu2011on experience with at least one of the following (multiple preferred): Rubrik, Dell EMC Avamar, PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM). + Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts (full, incremental, synthetic full, retention), RPO/RTO requirements. + Familiarity with storage concepts (NAS, SAN, snapshots, replication). + Experience working in ITILu2011based operational environments. + Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. + Ability to follow and improve operational procedures. + Clear documentation and communication skills. Wage Range : The annual starting salary for this position is between $60,000 u2013 $80,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
