IT Academic Applications Coordinator - Academic Technologies and Online Learning (AtoL) POSITION DETAILS New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for an IT Academic Applications Coordinator to work in the Academic Technologies and Online Learning (AtoL) Department. Reporting to the Director of Academic Technologies and Online Learning (AtoL), the IT Academic Applications Coordinator supports the design of classroom-based and online courses, and the development of pedagogical materials and activities that maximize student engagement and learning. The IT Academic Applications Coordinator also plays a role in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and pedagogies into the college's teaching and learning landscape. This includes supporting faculty in the development of new online courses, redesign of existing courses, or development and/or redesign of new or existing course modules or individual activities or assessments. The IT Academic Applications Coordinator also troubleshoots faculty member and student Brightspace tickets (used to report problems or submit requests for help). They will also assist with administration of the collegeu2019s micro-credential and badging efforts. The IT Academic Applications Coordinator will support pedagogies that are grounded in inclusive teaching and universal design practices, which aim to ensure that all students have access to and are active in the process of learning. Specific duties will include but are not limited to: + Support the design of the online content of classroom-based and online courses, including AI technologies. + Support the development of pedagogical materials and activities that maximize student engagement and learning. + Troubleshoot faculty and student Brightspace tickets. + Assist in designing, developing, and delivering Brightspace and specialized workshops and professional development sessions for instructors, students, and other academic personnel. + Assist in developing and curating instructional guides, course templates, resources, and training materials to support the efficient use of educational technology and learning management systems. + Help maintain technology resources, the AtoL website, and communication materials. + Support technology orientation and assist with support for faculty and students, including aiding faculty in migrating courses between platforms or updating existing courses. + Help develop student and faculty resources and tutorials for the use of specific technology applications and platforms as needed. + Review and research emerging educational technology tools, pedagogies and services that enhance teaching and learning, and make recommendations for their pilot or adoption by faculty, staff, and students. + Support the collegeu2019s micro-credential and badging efforts. + Carry out additional assignments in support of academic technologies as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Bacheloru2019s degree in instructional design, educational technology or a related field, or bacheloru2019s degree and two or more years of related experience preferred. + Experience working in higher education in a faculty-facing or instructional capacity. + Background in facilitating and conducting effective technology training sessions for faculty and staff. + Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, backwards design), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). + Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to successfully work with target populations.
