Our top ENR -ranked Ports & Maritime team is seeking a Lead Port Electrical Engineer to manage and lead our team of electrical engineers to delivery projects that expand, modernize, optimize, and decarbonize marine cargo and passenger terminals, urban waterfronts, and maritime industrial facilities all over the world. You would join a team that has an insatiable curiosity about solutions to move people and goods safely and efficiently through marine cargo and passenger terminals, enhancing global trade and connectivity.Your efforts will be primarily focused on the implementation of electrical designs for the electrification and decarbonization of public and private cargo terminals, and the design of electrical distribution systems, cathodic protection, and lighting for these facilities. You will work with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers and planners as the lead port electrical engineer to manage the development and/or review electrical plans, drawings, cost estimates, schedules, reports, and specifications. In addition to delivering projects, you will support the regional, national, and global Ports & Maritime team with proposals involving the electrification of waterfront facilities, low and medium voltage electrical, and cathodic protection design.You will also have the opportunity to work with our other markets and disciplines as part of an integrated and forward-thinking team with the opportunity to learn from and assist key specialists and draw resources from outside of the Ports & Maritime team, as needed. By joining Jacobs, youu2019ll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other.Your key responsibilities will be to:u2022 Lead the preparation and/or review of electrical design drawings, technical memorandums, technical specifications, and design reports for the successful delivery of our infrastructure projectsu2022 Serve as a subject matter expert for all electrical and/or cathodic protection work for port and marine facilitiesu2022 Contribute to and/or lead the preparation of proposals, including the development of technical approaches and levels of effort for the electrical engineering scope of worku2022 Work collaboratively across the various disciplines and markets within Jacobs to further develop your professional career and knowledge while being a key part of our project delivery teamsu2022 Engage and collaborate with electrical teams outside of the Ports & Maritime team, as needed, to build capability, capacity, and expertise to support our growing Ports & Maritime portfoliou2022 Engage with our Global Delivery Centers to build capability, capacity, and expertise to support our Ports & Maritime portfolio. u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in Electrical Engineeringu2022 Professional Engineering (PE) license in electrical engineering from a US stateu2022 Substantial years of electrical design experience, with a minimum of 7 years working on ports and other marine facilitiesu2022 Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and subject matter experts to deliver projects, in both in-person and remote environmentsu2022 Ability to work remotely and independentlyu2022 Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and client officesu2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skillsu2022 Working knowledge of NEC, NPFA, NEMA, IEC, NAVFAC, and other electrical codes, standards, criteria and specs used in the design of maritime facilitiesu2022 Experience in the design of projects where electrical equipment is installed in a corrosive marine environment and knowledge of the associated corrosion issuesu2022 Understanding of cathodic protection systems for maritime facilitiesu2022 Experience in the design of medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems and the infrastructure needed for container terminals, marine facilities, urban waterfronts, and other transportation facilitiesu2022 Experience in the design of grounding and lightning protection systems for maritime facilities such as container terminalsu2022 Experience in the design of lighting systems for maritime facilities such as container terminalsu2022 Experience in the design of medium and low voltage shore power (cold ironing) connection systems and other electrical services for vesselsu2022 Familiarity and experience with the following design programs (or similar):o SKM Power Systems Analysis Softwareo ETAP Power Systems Analysis Softwareo AGi32 Lighting Design Softwareo AutoCAD or MicroStationo Bluebeam or other PDF editing application for paperless drawing review and markupIdeally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 Masteru2019s Degree in Electrical engineeringu2022 Experience in the design of electrification for port-related equipment and infrastructure such as ship-to-shore cranes, gantry cranes, straddle carriers, etc.u2022 Experience in the design of microgrids and energy resilience measures for ports and other transportation infrastructureu2022 Experience in the design of cathodic protection systems (sacrificial or impressed current) in a marine environmentu2022 Experience in the design of shipyards and drydock electrical infrastructure#LI-SW1Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
