Forklift Operator Job Description As a forklift operator, you will primarily operate a sit-down forklift to move wood throughout the shop and yard. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with the majority of your day spent running the forklift. When not operating the forklift, you will assist with assembly, cutting wood, and moving basic materials. Responsibilities + Operate a sit-down forklift to transport wood within the shop and yard. + Assist in assembly and cutting wood when not operating the forklift. + Move basic materials as required. + Engage in physical tasks such as climbing up and down the truss table during shifts. Essential Skills + Experience operating a forklift. + Ability to read a tape measure accurately. + Carpentry skills, particularly swinging a hammer. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in construction or farming. + Familiarity with measurement equipment. Why Work Here? The floor can get very hot in the summer, but you will be provided with a large jug of Gatorade on warm days and have plenty of water breaks. The dress code allows for wearing shorts, but closed-toed shoes are required. Ear plugs are worn due to the large radio played; however, ear buds are not permitted. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pillager, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
