The Housing Control Operator uses the touchscreen in Housing Control, provides paging throughout the facility or specific areas, responds to and initiates intercom calls, unlocks electronically controlled doors, controls all access in and out of the secure perimeter of the facility, controls all internal movement in and out of the Housing Units, monitors the jail operation via direct observation and by means of CCTV, monitors the fire and smoke alarms, records information regarding significant occurrences, activities, and operations of the facility on his/her Spillman Log, monitors watch tours, and serves as a primary point of contact for internal communications.
