ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RiseBorou2019s Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a family-centered, home-like, inclusive environment where all members of the Brownsville community have access to, and may benefit from, offerings that strengthen family protective factors, while providing access to resources residents may need in order to thrive. In partnership with the NYC Administration for Childrenu2019s Services (ACS) and under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Education Programming, the FEC Director will work collaboratively with the RiseBoro leadership/management team, community partners, and community members to enhance the well-being of the community members based on their choices. Specific duties and responsibilities include: + Responsible for the overall successful implementation of the FEC model including ongoing community assessment, planning, community outreach, and networking. + Ongoing identification of community residents who will serve on the Community Advisory Board as FEC partners + Develop methods and strategies including programmatic co-design to elevate the voices of community residents and local leaders + Build partnerships with stakeholders from multiple sectors, including community members, public officials, and public and private organizations + Create and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners + Maintain practices and principles grounded in appreciative inquiry and collaborative design throughout all aspects of the program + Plan, organize, and coordinate events and offerings that are creative and responsive to the communityu2019s needs + Ensure that the FEC is meeting the goals of the community + Develop and maintain documentation and reporting systems that capture the FECu2019s range of services, participation, intended goals, and outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining meeting agendas, reports, surveys, flyers, outreach materials, and attendance records for offerings and trainings + Participate in the budget development process with the RiseBoro leadership team; responsible for managing and adhering to the FEC budget + Ensure all purchases are necessary and justifiable; submit all required paperwork and documentation to support purchases on time + Support Performance Management and Continuous Quality Improvement activities to ensure adherence to the model, continuous feedback from community members about their perspective of the FEC, and continuous growth towards goals developed collaboratively with RiseBoro, ACS, parent and caregiver members of the Advisory Committee, and community members + Maintain contact with ACS officials and staff throughout the contract term; liaise with ACS on all issues related to the FEC, including reporting, contract monitoring, audits, quality assurance, and evaluation purposes + Attend and participate in all necessary ACS and RiseBoro trainings and events + Convene all required meetings with the Community Advisory Board to ensure community needs are met + Support the Community Advisory Board and other community members to fulfill their leadership roles + Attend public forums, including community board meetings; communicate with public officials to highlight needs and to raise awareness and support for the work of the FEC; serve as spokesperson for the FEC + Work with RiseBoro leadership team to leverage additional resources through in-kind donations, pro-bono services, and additional funding opportunities + Participate in related board functions including submission of Board reports and presentations, as requested Supervisory Responsibilities: + Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate FEC staff + Ensure the program is adequately staffed at all times and that staff are oriented to respective roles within FEC and RiseBoro overall structure + Ensure the teamu2019s adherence to the FEC model and RiseBorou2019s values and policies + Provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure the delivery of high performance + Manage and delegate responsibilities involved in day-to-day FEC program operations to allow for efficient programming; convene meetings with program staff to address FEC needsAssess and arrange for professional development needs of FEC staff + Prepare/review and approve FEC staffu2019s timesheets on a bi-weekly basis and submit them to the payroll department for processing + Create a culture of teamwork and collaboration among line of supervision, staff, FEC members, and parent and caregiver members of the Advisory Committee, that is built on equity, inclusiveness, and non-hierarchical decision making + Develop new initiatives, and ideas in conjunction with community members, the Associate Director and division leadership + Other related duties as assigned COMPETENCIES + Demonstrated experience in a leadership position managing community organizing and/or community-driven programs required + Demonstrated experience in program development, operations, and management preferred + Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and commitment to the Brownsville community required + Experience with coalition building preferred + Ability to understand and respect community needs and cultures + Ability to develop and sustain working relationships with children and adults + Ability to work productively, independently, and ethically at an out-stationed RiseBoro site + Excellent oral and written communication skills; related web-based software + Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed + Commitment to RiseBorou2019s mission, vision, and values + Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities + Firm understanding of racial equity and anti-racist frameworks including power-sharing + Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + High School Diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of eleven (11) years of professional experience + Bacheloru2019s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience + Masteru2019s degree with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered qualifying.
