Job Description

Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Beer/Wine/Spirits operations. RESPONSIBILITIES u2022Promote trust and respect among associates. u2022Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates. u2022Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets. u2022Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation. u2022Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process. u2022Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines. u2022Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. u2022Offer product samples, consistent with company guidelines and applicable laws, to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about. u2022Inform customers of Beer/Wine/Spirit specials. u2022Display a positive attitude. u2022Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results. u2022Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management. u2022Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in- store promotions, especially promotions that affect the Beer/Wine/Spirits. u2022Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor. u2022Implement the period promotional plan for the department. u2022Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports. u2022Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory. u2022Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.. u2022Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering. u2022Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained. u2022Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management. u2022Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Must be 21 years of age Effective communication skills Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction) Ability to handle stressful situations Desired High school education or equivalent preferred Management experience preferred Beer/Wine/Liquor experience Familiar with industry terms and processes Retail experience Knowledge of imported and domestic varieties, the flavor profiles and how they are made Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to the customer Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) $0 - $0 per hour
