RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Job Functions: u00b7As a Grocery Clerk/Cashier you will process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understand the Point of Sale system, and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy u00b7Retail Clerk is responsible for rotating all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take appropriate action u00b7Hourly Grocery Clerk/Cashier will promote trust and respect among team members u00b7Ruler Store Clerk is charged with creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold u00b7Grocery Clerk gains and maintains knowledge of products sold and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products u00b7Greet, engage and assist customers u00b7Inform customers of grocery specials u00b7Order, label, stock and inventory merchandise u00b7Report product ordering, shipping & pricing discrepancies to store management u00b7Understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss u00b7Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (i.e., Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fireworks) u00b7Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads u00b7Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines u00b7Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained u00b7Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management u00b7Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify store management of any items in need of repair u00b7Notify management QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Position Qualifications: Knowledge of basic math Ability to fully complete the cashier training program Ability to memorize produce items and sale items Effective communication and reading skills Must be 18 years old Desired Previous Job Experience: Customer service experience Retail experience
