Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Covington, Louisiana, this role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency of our financial operations within the dynamic import/export industry. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounting tasks independently while demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities: u2022 Perform routine accounting duties such as filing, data entry, and document organization to support departmental operations. u2022 Generate and review financial and operational reports to ensure accuracy and relevance. u2022 Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries with precision and adherence to deadlines. u2022 Accurately input financial data and transactions into the companyu2019s accounting systems. u2022 Support invoice processing and reconciliation activities. u2022 Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks as needed. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to streamline accounting processes. u2022 Collaborate with the team on ad hoc accounting projects and responsibilities. u2022 Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with financial procedures. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formula usage. u2022 Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in managing tasks. u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of accounting. u2022 Experience with QuickBooks and general accounting practices. u2022 Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. u2022 Familiarity with journal entries and basic accounting principles such as debits and credits. u2022 Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role is preferred. u2022 Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
