This position assists the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing, customer service, and regulatory compliance. This role accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review, performs claim adjudication, and processes customer account reconciliation. + Utilizes automated dispensing systems, electronic health records, and barcode scanning to improve accuracy and efficiency. + Performs inventory receiving activities, restocking of drug shelves, rotating stock accordingly and placing drugs in appropriate assigned areas. + Assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. + Actively performs pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in pharmacy specific computer systems and operational programs. + Performs data entry tasks by inputting prescription information into the pharmacy system. + Packs prescription orders according to medication packing policy to assure no damage during shipping occurs. + Processes claims adjudication and copay assistance billing for new prescription orders and refill requests, ensuring appropriate National Drug Code (NDC) selection and shipping method are selected at the time of dispense. + Other duties as assigned.
