Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient inventory management within the transportation industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining inventory processes and supporting operational needs. Responsibilities: u2022 Receive incoming shipments, both inventory and non-inventory, and ensure timely delivery to appropriate departments and work areas. u2022 Maintain accurate records and provide required data, materials, and reports to support operational needs. u2022 Uphold high standards of professionalism and adhere to organizational policies, including safety and equal employment opportunity practices. u2022 Establish and maintain positive working relationships with administrative staff and union personnel. u2022 Promote and follow safe work practices, ensuring compliance with all organizational safety policies and procedures. u2022 Assist with inventory tracking and management, including physical inventory checks and control procedures. u2022 Perform essential tasks as directed by maintenance leadership to support daily operations. u2022 Utilize computer applications, including inventory management systems, to ensure efficient tracking and reporting. u2022 Participate in annual inventory processes to ensure accurate asset tracking and compliance. Requirements u2022 Familiarity with warehouse and storeroom procedures, including inventory management and record-keeping for heavy-duty vehicle parts. u2022 Ability to identify and recognize parts used in heavy-duty vehicles such as buses and trucks. u2022 Valid Michigan driveru2019s license with eligibility to drive. u2022 Capable of lifting and moving parts, including items weighing over 30 pounds. u2022 Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software. u2022 Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines independently or under general supervision. u2022 Appearance and demeanor reflecting attention to detail. u2022 Reliable attendance and punctuality to meet service requirements in public transportation.
