In this role, as a Senior Biologist and Ecosystem Restoration Project Manager, you will reside within the US West Environmental Permitting and Planning (EPP) in either the Northwest US EPP Department; or the US West Ecosystem - Restoration & Data Management (RE) Department. Youu2019ll lead projects providing expertise to clients to solve problems and meet multiple design and ecological connectivity objectives, while guiding teams to execute those tasks in a high-quality manner as a subject matter expert. You will work across geographies, performance units, and departments (e.g. Water Resources and Transportation) on engineering, biology, planning, and sustainability projects. This is your opportunity to act as a technical support resource specialist in the field of biology, policy, and project management in environmental engineering and infrastructure ecology.Youu2019ll help advance the industry by delivering sustainable solutions for clients, partnering with Jacobsu2019 multi-discipline practitioners and subject matter experts. Weu2019ll lean on you to support and develop ecological design, biological assessments, manage projects and project specific tasks, deliver and oversee delegated work, and collaborate with engineers, environmental staff, and other design practitioners of varying experience levels. Youu2019ll also mentor junior and learn from other senior practitioners to grow professionally. Weu2019ll rely on you to develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive business through quality work, solid project management, proposals, networking, and sole source opportunities. Duties will include project/task management, biology expertise (fish/wildlife/habitat), data analysis, report writing, design support, field work, interagency/interdisciplinary coordination, and business development.Your contributions will also be individually or as a member of an interdisciplinary design team to prepare, and/or review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Your participation may be required in support/lead of preparation of basis of design reports, biological and geomorphic assessments, H&H model results, floodplain analysis, bridge scour evaluation, wildlife-vehicle collision analysis, and habitat connectivity modeling.Clients often include DOTs, Transit Organizations, Cities, Counties, Districts at both a local level in the Northwest, nationally and potentially on a global scale supporting international projects. Agencies frequently engaged are Department(s) of Fish and Wildlife, local tribal entities, and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Part of your role will be to build trust with clients as a seller-doer, to help with early, middle, and end game sales support. As a trusted partner external and internal to Jacobs, you will represent our One Jacobs capabilities to make sure we meet and exceed expectations in project management and technical delivery. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Biology, Restoration Biology and/or Fish and Wildlife Sciencesu2022 At least 5 years of professional biology, related sciences, and planning experience on ecological connectivity crossing design, working with permitting agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.u2022 Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County, and/or Municipal experience.u2022 Experience with and understanding of roadway and/or structures design and other roadways components incorporated into a set of construction plans.u2022 Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.u2022 Experience writing technical reports.u2022 Strong self-motivation, problem-solving, and team-oriented work practices.u2022 Excellent organizational skills, multitasking ability, and computer skills.u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Ideally, You'll Also Have:u2022 Masteru2019s degree in Restoration Biology and/or Fish and Wildlife Sciences.u2022 Professional Affiliation as a Certified Wildlife Biologist, a Professional Wetlands Biologist, etc.u2022 Construction oversight experience installing restoration designs.u2022 Experience in project management for projects that include fish and/or wildlife crossings and ecological connectivity.u2022 Proficiency with ArcGIS.u2022 One or more successful constructed restoration projects in the last 5 years in Pacific Northwest.u2022 One or more successful won restoration projects in the last 5 years in Pacific Northwest.u2022 Proficiency in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to restoration design and planning analysis.u2022 Proficiency with graphical design and renderings.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
