Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This hands-on role works closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. Responsibilities + Inspect, maintain, repair, align, install, and refurbish mechanical equipment. + Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment including pumps, compressors, dryers, conveyors, and rotating machinery. + Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to support production processes. + Develop a strong understanding of equipment operation to improve reliability and performance. + Collaborate with production personnel to ensure effective maintenance solutions. + Perform fabrication and welding tasks, including cutting and joining materials. + Weld carbon steel using SMAW and GMAW; weld stainless steel using SMAW. Essential Skills + Troubleshooting skills in maintenance and repair. + Proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics. + Experience in welding and fabrication. + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. + Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. + Effective communication and teamwork skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or millwright work. + Proficiency in welding techniques and fabrication methods. Why Work Here? The campaign season runs from August 15th to May, depending on the weather, where sugar beets are processed. During this season, technicians work on a 4-week rotating schedule, with shifts alternating between days and nights.
