*Description** The Medic/Security Officer is a hybrid role that requires the employee to perform a variety of emergency medical treatment (EMT) duties and security related functions. This role requires strong observation skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in routine and emergency situations. **EMT:** Under the supervision of the Medical Operations Manager (MOM) and under the direction of a licensed medical physician or designated healthcare provider, the EMT responds to emergency calls, administers emergency medical treatment and transports sick/injured patients to definitive care medical facilities or evaluates and treats non-emergent medical conditions. **Security:** Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, clients, and property by performing assigned security duties, enforcing site policies, and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner. Incumbents are required to be firearms licensed, trained & qualified. The position is located in Delta Junction, Alaska. Rotational schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts. Housing in Delta Junction is NOT provided; officers go to their own place of residence at the end of the work shift. **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** + High school diploma or equivalent + Minimum 21 years of age + Alaska EMT III Certification, AEMT, or Paramedic; or NREMT Paramedic with ability to obtain Alaska Paramedic certification. + Minimum of 3 years experience at a high-volume EMS or Medical facility + Basic Life Support provider (CPR) certification + Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification + Valid driver’s license + Armed Security Guard License (State of Alaska) or ability to obtain + Must be able to pass the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, criminal background investigation, and post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Basic Trauma Life Support (Advanced), Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, or International Trauma Life Support certification + Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals + Prior work experience in private security, military service, law enforcement or a related field **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Perform all work in accordance with company and client policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work rules. + **Medic/EMT responsibilities** include but are not limited to: + Apply medical standing orders and administrative procedures while communicating patient status updates to medical directors and other healthcare professionals. + Respond to emergency calls using specialized equipment and vehicles, assess patients’ conditions, and determine appropriate emergency interventions or need for additional assistance. + Deliver on-site and pre-hospital emergency care, including CPR, oxygen administration, IV access, medication administration, wound care, splinting, advanced life support, and EKG/vital sign monitoring. + Safely extricate, move, and transport patients, coordinating with hospitals, air medevac services, clinics, and treatment center staff to ensure continuity of care. + Maintain emergency vehicles, medical supplies, and communication equipment, while documenting patient information, treatment provided, and responses to care. + **Armed Security Officer responsibilities** include but are not limited to: + Follow company and client policies, safety standards, and applicable laws while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and proper uniform requirements. + Patrol assigned areas to monitor for hazards, security breaches, and suspicious activity, and conduct searches of people, vehicles, and property as required. + Respond appropriately to emergencies (medical incidents, fires, disturbances) and coordinate with supervisors, emergency responders, and law enforcement. + Provide strong customer service, de-escalate conflicts, maintain order, and complete accurate incident reports and documentation. + Maintain required licensing and certifications, attend safety trainings, report accidents promptly, work flexible schedules, and remain alert while performing assigned duties. + Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state/local licensing and permit requirements for the position including medical certification(s), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and firearms qualifications. **BENEFITS** Full-time regular employees have the opportunity to enroll in our health plan (medical/dental/vision), life insurance, 401k Retirement Plan, and Employee Assistance Program. Benefits begin on the date of hire. **WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS** The employee will be required to work at a client’s assigned job site that may involve a confined workspace such as an office, security guard post, or patrol vehicle for extended periods of time. Work assignments consist of 12-hour shifts. Ability to work day and night shifts as required. The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
