This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in nonprofit and grant accounting environments, with responsibilities spanning financial reporting, compliance, and month-end processes. The position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting organizational goals. Responsibilities: u2022 Complete month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews. u2022 Prepare and interpret financial statements and variance analyses to inform decision-making. u2022 Oversee grant accounting processes, such as tracking budgets, ensuring compliance, and recording revenue and expenditures. u2022 Maintain and update fund accounting records and nonprofit-specific chart of accounts. u2022 Contribute to accounts receivable and payable operations as required. u2022 Assist with creating budgets and conducting periodic financial forecasts. u2022 Develop schedules and compile documentation for audits and grant reporting. u2022 Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and internal control procedures. u2022 Collaborate with program teams to reconcile expenditures and produce accurate grant reports. u2022 Participate in special financial projects and initiatives to improve processes. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. u2022 At least three years of accounting experience, with a preference for nonprofit or grant accounting. u2022 Proven expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting. u2022 Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Blackbaud is advantageous. u2022 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, alongside the ability to meet strict deadlines. u2022 Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal. u2022 Solid understanding of fund accounting principles, grant compliance, and nonprofit reporting standards. u2022 Experience preparing audit schedules and working with external auditors is preferred.
