Learn more at . Job Summary The HVAC Maintenance Technician performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facilities engineering and maintenance departments. Responsibilities: u2022 Updates work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device. u2022 Helps settle staff, material needs, and timelines for jobs and projects. u2022 Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs, and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, food service equipment, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar plant and specialty equipment items u2022 Assists in making decisions on all repairs and reports major problems to the Manger as appropriate. u2022 Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power & hand tools and other vital equipment. u2022 Reviews outside vendor projects and makes punch lists. u2022 Analyzes and corrects sophisticated building system problems and electro/mechanical problems related to utilities. u2022 Supports project management activity as needed. u2022 Responds to emergency problems in the facility and makes emergency repairs as needed. u2022 Maintains logs, performs rounds, and completes P.M. work orders, tests, and inspections. u2022 Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems. u2022 Maintains shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner. u2022 Preforms other duties as assigned. Qualifications: u2022 5 yearsu2019 experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance subject area. u2022 HVAC certification or license highly preferred. u2022 Experience working with blueprints and schematics. u2022 A general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment. u2022 Rudimentary ability to apply hand-operated construction equipment. u2022 Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.
