Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Maria, California. This is a contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to grow within the role while contributing to the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, with experience in the construction industry. The candidate must also excel in managing contract billing, general ledger activities, and financial reporting. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage journal entries and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records. u2022 Oversee accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks Online for accounting tasks and financial management. u2022 Conduct contract audits to verify compliance and accuracy. u2022 Handle sales tax reporting and ensure compliance with local and state regulations. u2022 Process bank deposits and reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy. u2022 Generate detailed financial reports and assist in budget preparation. u2022 Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and procedures Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or five years of experience in the construction industry. u2022 Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries. u2022 Experience in accounts receivable processes, including billing and collections. u2022 Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. u2022 Knowledge of contract auditing procedures and bank deposit processing. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and produce accurate reports. u2022 Excellent attention to detail, with organizational and communication skills. u2022 Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax reporting.
