Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Make-Ready Engineering Quality Control professional with a strong background in electric distribution construction and Joint Use environments. This is not an entry-level or training role. The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of distribution systems and understands how proposed make-ready work translates to real-world construction. Work location (remote, hybrid, or in-office) will be determined based on experience level and demonstrated ability to perform independently with minimal supervision. u2e3b Required Experience u2022 Direct experience in Make-Ready Engineering (MRE) within a Joint Use environment under Georgia Power or another electric utility u2022 Strong working knowledge of NESC requirements and distribution construction standards u2022 Proven understanding of power delivery systems and construction practices u2022 Ability to review and validate cost estimates, labor units, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for make-ready work u2022 Experience reviewing work directives and engineering packages for constructability and compliance u2022 Ability to interpret design prints and verify correct work locations and scope execution u2e3b Distribution Construction Knowledge (Critical) Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of: u2022 Distribution framing and hardware assemblies u2022 Line devices and protective equipment u2022 Tap-ups and secondary/service drops u2022 Service feeds to residential, commercial, and traffic control systems u2022 Clearances, loading, and pole owner requirements u2022 Field constructability considerations and safety compliance This role requires the ability to confidently assess whether proposed work can be physically built in the field and meets NESC and utility standards. u2e3b Quality Control & Leadership Responsibilities u2022 Mark up and return engineering packages with clear corrective guidance u2022 Identify safety issues and document findings for correction by field crews u2022 Recognize patterns of recurring errors and escalate appropriately u2022 Communicate directly with engineers to educate and reduce future design mistakes u2022 Ensure SLA deadlines are met, including willingness to work extended hours when necessary We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
