Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. This contract-to-permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization while enhancing your financial expertise. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing various aspects of accounting and finance operations while supervising a small team. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee and execute the month-end close process from start to finish to ensure accurate financial reporting. u2022 Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting functions. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations to maintain precise financial records. u2022 Coordinate and assist with annual audits, serving as the key point of contact for external auditors. u2022 Supervise and guide a team of two staff members, fostering collaboration and productivity. u2022 Cross-train with other team members to ensure operational flexibility and coverage. u2022 Contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes within the organization. u2022 Utilize Sage Intacct software for accounting tasks, if applicable. u2022 Support organizational growth by taking on additional responsibilities as needed. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger management. u2022 Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations. u2022 Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting. u2022 Experience with annual audits and working directly with auditors. u2022 Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and mentor a small team. u2022 Knowledge of Sage Intacct software is preferred but not required. u2022 Demonstrated ability to adapt and take initiative in a smaller team environment.
