Job descriptionSafe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families through shelters, transitional housing, rental assistance, and homeownership programs.The Homeless Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing outreach and referral services specifically to homeless individuals and families of color and connecting them to internal and external services to transition them from the street into safe affordable shelter.u00a0 This role plans events, gives presentations, and utilizes other effective marketing tactics to increase trust, aid the homeless, and refer them to the ULMS Intake process.u00a0 This position provides case management and support to program participants.u00a0REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- 2 years direct experience working with individuals who face challenges and barriers including homelessness- High school diploma or equivalent- Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Proficiency in MS Office -- Word, Excel, Outlook- Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences- Ability to work independently with limited supervision- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task- Ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights and weekendsu00a0ULMS Total Compensationu00a0 Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period- Medical - $11,176.08 per year- Dental - $540 per year- Vision - $65.04 per year- Group Life & ADD - $41.70 per yearu00a0- Employee Assistance Program - ~$57.60 per yearu00a0- 403(b) retirement - $100 per month- Health & Fitness Benefit - $419.88 per yearu00a0- LinkedIn Learning Account u00a0- Professional Development Funds -- up to $1500 per year for approved professional development activitiesPaid Time Offu00a0- ~ 3.5 weeks of PTO accrued annually during first 24 months of employment- 8 annual personal holiday/health and wellness days- 11 paid holidays u00a0WA State Paid Family & Medical Leave -- 0.8% of salary - 100% employer paidu00a0Workers Compensation Coverage - ~$436.80 - ~$3,993.60 per year (depending on class code)Taxes -- 9.8% of salaryu00a0At Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, we don't just accept difference --- we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our program participants, and our community.
