Description The Director, Investor Relations u2013 Competitive Intelligence is a senior leader responsible for managing a world-class analytical framework encompassing macroeconomic, equity market and peer financial data that informs managementu2019s view of how the investment community will interpret the companyu2019s financial performance, strategic actions, and disclosures. This role will lead competitive intelligence for the enterprise, build and maintain a Street-aligned financial model, , and translate insights into clear recommendations for Investor Relations leadership, the CFO, and the Executive Leadership Team. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor who blends deep financial expertise with strategic thinking and strong communication. This role manages a senior analyst focused on competitive intelligence and plays an integral role in the earnings process, investor messaging, targeting, and broader IR initiatives. Key Responsibilities Competitive Intelligence & Market Insights u00b7 Build and lead the competitive intelligence program covering large bank peers: financial performance, KPIs, strategy changes, pricing/portfolio dynamics, credit trends, capital and liquidity actions, and regulatory developments. u00b7 Develop peer dashboards, scorecards, and quarterly competitor insights that inform leadershipu2019s understanding of market positioning. u00b7 Monitor earnings releases, conference presentations, and strategic announcements across peer institutions; provide timely analysis and implications. u00b7 Track and synthesize sell-side research, investor commentary, and market sentiment to identify themes that are resonating with the Streetu2014and those that are not. Sell-Side Modeling & Consensus Analytics u00b7 Build, maintain, and enhance a financial model to forecast how analysts are likely to interpret company performance trends. u00b7 Conduct scenario analyses on rate paths, deposit pricing/betas, loan growth, credit normalization, hedging strategies, CECL impacts, and capital actions. u00b7 Own consensus tracking, variance analysis, and reconciliation of sell-side assumptions vs. internal expectations. u00b7 Produce valuation, attribution, and peer rerating analyses (e.g., P/E, P/TBV, ROTCE vs. COE, capital return implications). Earnings & Disclosure Support u00b7 Play a central role in the earnings preparation process: o Contribute to the earnings press release, slides, Q&A materials, talking points, and internal briefing documents. o Identify key themes and potential Street reactions. o Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity across disclosures. u00b7 Maintain high-quality IR website content and ensure information is current and consistent with regulatory requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication u00b7 Provide the Head of IR, CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board with clear, actionable insights derived from competitive analysis and Street modeling. u00b7 Support investor and analyst meetings, conference participation, and non-deal roadshows. u00b7 Build strong relationships across Finance, Accounting, Corporate Communications, Legal, Treasury/ALM, and other business segments. Leadership & Team Development u00b7 Manage, coach, and develop a Senior Associate focused on competitive intelligence. u00b7 Establish clear goals, review cycles, and professional development paths. u00b7 Ensure high-quality processes, documentation, and analytical rigor across all work products. Additional Responsibilities u00b7 Support broader IR initiatives: investor targeting, perception studies, annual report elements, and IR program enhancements. u00b7 Serve as a subject matter expert for internal partners on investor expectations, competitive trends, and sector dynamics. u00b7 Other duties as assigned to support the needs of the IR function. Minimum Qualifications u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field. u00b7 10+ years of relevant experience in: o Equity research (preferably Large Cap or Mid-Cap Banks) o Investment banking (Financial Institutions Group) o Corporate finance, FP&A, Strategy, Treasury/ALM o Investor Relations u00b7 Demonstrated mastery of financial modeling, especially bank financials (NII/NIM, deposit betas, credit/CECL, capital ratios, liquidity, AOCI). u00b7 Strong analytical and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex drivers into clear and concise insights. u00b7 Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills. u00b7 Ability to manage highly confidential information with professionalism. u00b7 Experience working under tight deadlines and in high-visibility situations. u00b7 Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and analytical tools (Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Visible Alpha, etc.).
