Accountant - Full Performance TS/SCI with Poly REQUIRED Category: Finance Main location: United States, Virginia, Chantilly Position ID: J0226-0751 Employment Type: Full Time Position Description: CGI Federal is seeking candidates to perform accounting work in support of a USG agency in the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). Successful candidates will be capable of conducting full performance level accounting work which entails a range of routine to complex accounting and financial activities including the preparation, analysis and reconciliation of financial statements and information, tax returns, general ledgers, reports, etc. Position is located in Chantilly, VA Your future duties and responsibilities: uf0a7 Coordinate the day-to-day accounting and financial activities within area of assignment and perform the full range of routine to complex financial activities. uf0a7 Analyze financial information to include but not limited to bank accounts, billing statements, financial statements, reports, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), tax returns, appropriate USG agency systems, etc. to identify and resolve discrepancies and to ensure data integrity is maintained. Refer highly complex issues to senior technical experts or managers and provide recommendations for corrective action. uf0a7 Provide technical accounting advice, guidance to managers, staff and others on the full range of financial processes, workflow and priorities. Identify and assist in revolving routine to complex financial problems and issues. uf0a7 Assist managers within area of assignment in the development of specific financial policies. uf0a7 Coordinate the implementation and maintenance o Accountant - Full Performancef a system of checks and balances to ensure the integrity of financial records. uf0a7 Review and assess financial processes and procedures to identify and implement changes to gain efficiencies. uf0a7 Review financial activity and accrue expenses as needed in support of financial statements. uf0a7 Analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts to identify and resolve all routine to complex discrepancies. uf0a7 Gather and analyze financial data from various systems; create and present reports to senior managers and make recommendations in support of the mission. uf0a7 Assign and monitor the contractor workload in the area of assignment, prioritize, delegate and monitor contractor work assignments uf0a7 Assist managers within area of assignment in developing specific accounting policies or procedures. uf0a7 Originate appropriate accounting data and post in USG agencyu2019s unique databases and systems. Review to ensure data integrity is maintained. uf0a7 Adhere to federal government requirements and USG agencyu2019s standards for accounting and financial record keeping. uf0a7 Provide functional expertise to system development activities, create ad hoc system reports and conduct functional testing of business systems. uf0a7 Assist in developing financial forecasts to support pricing of Working Capital Fund products. uf0a7 Assist in analyzing Working Capital Fund financial data, including the analysis of and/or preparation of financial statements submitted by Working Capital Fund businesses. uf0a7 Perform other duties as assigned. Other functions may vary depending on the office of assignment. Other functions may include responsibility to: uf0a7 o Prepare complex tax returns, reconciliations and tax documents in support of the USG agencyu2019s Tax Program o Analyze and test systems that interface with the accounting system to ensure the integrity of accounting data o Analyze financial statements and other financial data. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: uf0a7 Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). uf0a7 Considerable knowledge of Federal appropriation law and ability to obtain considerable knowledge of USG agencyu2019s regulations, concepts, methods and standards impacting financial activities. uf0a7 Ability to obtain and apply considerable knowledge of Finance procedures and policies specific to the area of assignment. uf0a7 Ability to obtain and apply considerable knowledge of customer mission requirements sufficient to anticipate required financial support and strong customer service skills to respond to a broad range of customer questions. uf0a7 Strong analytical skills necessary to research and compile data, evaluate it and develop financial reports. uf0a7 Strong knowledge of quality assurance procedures to ensure data integrity and timeliness of the data. uf0a7 Ability to apply analytic, diagnostic and qualitative techniques sufficient to identify, evaluate and recommend to managers appropriate financial solutions to resolve routine to complex interrelated financial issues. uf0a7 Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated by developing working relationships and networks with division/component/field managers and employees, staff and colleagues. uf0a7 Well-developed customer service skills demonstrated by anticipating and responding to customers' needs and answering moderately complex questions regarding accounting and finance information in a manner that generates customer satisfaction. uf0a7 Oral and written communication skills that are sufficient for responses or briefings on financial topics and issues to a wide range of stakeholders, co-workers, customers and managers to include non-accountants. uf0a7 Considerable knowledge of accounting software systems to include how they relate/interface with each other. uf0a7 Strong skill in Microsoft Office suite tools; specifically, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $198,240.00.
