Job Title: Health and Safety ManagerJob Description The Health & Safety Manager is a field-focused leader responsible for driving safety culture across active construction projects. This individual will partner closely with clients, trade partners, and internal teams to ensure the safe execution of work while reinforcing the philosophy of being a coach, not a cop. This role requires adaptability, strong technical capability, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levelsu2014from senior client representatives to field trades. Responsibilities + Drive safety culture and practices across construction projects. + Manage and utilize Hammertech for safety management. + Review and assess pre-task plans and permits. + Lead a weekly safety committee. + Conduct orientations and training sessions in alignment with safety standards. + Engage in toolbox talks. + Act as a coach rather than a disciplinarian in safety matters. + Spend significant time in the field, ensuring compliance and safety standards are met. Essential Skills + Proficiency in safety management, construction, and compliance. + Experience with electronic EHS platforms such as Hammertech, Procore, or EHS Insight. + Strong technical skills with Bluebeam and Excel. + Onsite construction experience. + Ability to adapt to changing schedules. + Effective communication skills across various levels of construction personnel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Extensive EHS training including OSHA 30, 500, NFPA 70, CHT. + Variety of EHS certifications. + Experience in the industry. Work Environment The role involves projects in the Kalamazoo/Detroit area, with 50% of the time spent at a Pharma client in Kalamazoo and the remaining time within a 200-mile radius. This is primarily a field position, not an office role. The position requires travel, with a potential three-year project in the Kalamazoo area, and any travel expenses will be covered. Discussions on company vehicle/fuel card or allowance can be entertained. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
