The Team Youu2019ll Work With: The Office of the Chief Counsel to the Mayor and City Hall provides legal and strategic guidance to the Mayor and senior policymakers in City Hall on a broad range of matters, including policy, planning, litigation, legislation, compliance, ethics, and transparency. Alongside several other initiatives and functions, the Chief Counsel to the Mayor also supervises and coordinates the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (including the Environmental Control Board), the Mayoru2019s Office of Risk Management and Compliance, and the Mayoru2019s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary, in addition to liaising with and reviewing the activities of the Conflicts of Interest Board. The Problems Youu2019ll Solve: - Freedom of Information: Searching for and reviewing documents responsive to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests, preparing documents subject to public disclosure for production, and tracking FOIL requests. - Project Support: Providing support to the attorneys in the Office of the Chief Counsel, including various forms of research, legislative analysis, developing and summarizing factual information for legal analysis, and drafting written work product for attorney review. - Working with attorneys on the team to create reports. - Administrative management to include correspondence and document management. - Working closely with the Chief Counselu2019s Special Assistant to prepare and coordinate meetings. - Transcribing complex legal records and notes into accurately typed documents. - Assisting in the preparation of matters and projects assigned to team members or other senior staff.
