Job Description OPEN TO PERMANENT SENIOR CONSULTANT (PULIC HEALTH SOCIAL WORK) The Office of Crisis Services is responsible for a portfolio of contracted services and special projects that involve close coordination with other City and State agencies, including Mobile Crisis and Crisis Respite. Without someone in this position will be lack of oversight, poses a risk to individuals in crisis, potentially leading to subpar services under the auspices of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: - Collaborate with the Department of Social Services to align programmatic and fiscal priorities specifically for shared portfolio of DOHMH contracted services within the homeless service system and broadly for the shared population of homeless people with mental health and/or substance use. - Negotiate scopes of service and budgets for behavioral health services with other public and voluntary agencies. - Demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders {mental health and substance use) which includes tobacco use, tobacco products and vaping. - Monitor adherence to scopes of service, budgets, relevant regulations and policies through frequent site visits, data collection and analysis. - Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of assigned contracted programs/program types and best practices. Based on this understanding, identify, and recommend opportunities for programmatic improvements and to inform strategic planning that optimizes mental health dollars
