Description A client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to provide coverage during an upcoming leave. This role is critical to maintaining accurate project financials, supporting ongoing construction initiatives, and ensuring continuity within a busy and structured accounting environment. The Project Accountant will work closely with the project accounting team and will have full access to support and resources. This role is onsite and candidates must have recent Construction industry experience with change orders, AIA billing forms, and Procore software experience to be considered. Responsibilities for the Project Accountant: u2022 Oversee construction project accounting, ensuring all financial records align with budgets and compliance standards. u2022 Review and process change orders, verifying costs against project budgets and contractual agreements. u2022 Utilize Oracle and Procore systems to manage project setups and configurations effectively. u2022 Audit billing documentation, including AIA billing and substantiation, to ensure accuracy and completeness. u2022 Collaborate with project teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting. u2022 Monitor and verify construction costs, ensuring they meet contractual and budgetary requirements. u2022 Assist with the preparation and review of construction-related financial documents, such as schedules and loan agreements. u2022 Conduct financial audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and legal regulations. u2022 Provide support to senior analysts and supervisors, addressing inquiries and resolving financial discrepancies. u2022 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction accounting practices and tools to optimize processes. Requirements + 3+ years of construction accounting experience required. + Strong proficiency with AIA billing, change orders, and other construction related responsibilities. + Handsu2011on experience with ProCore is mandatory. + Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fastu2011paced environment. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and validate project financial data. + High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. + Comfort working in a structured setting with established controls and processes.
