Carries out basic inspections and tests of safety and workplace hazard monitoring equipment and systems; records and escalates anomalies, hazards, and issues for resolution. Assists in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and employee training; maintains safety records, manuals, and documentation in accordance with established procedures. Supports ongoing safety surveys and investigations of incidents, accidents, and emergencies. Under limited supervision, responsible for providing support to the chemical storage, wastewater treatment areas and the salvage control.REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GED with associate degree in a related field preferred.A minimum of 2 or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and termediate working knowledge of Excel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms required support for chemical storage control, wastewater treatment and salvage control.Assists other departments in the storage, distribution, data entry, and the reporting of chemical usage.Ensures environmental compliance audits, chemical usage records.Applies theory and principles of environmental engineering to modify, test, and operate equipment and devices used in wastewater treatment and purification systems.Assists the environmental Sr. staff in ensuring that the company follows all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.Maintains water purification and water reclaim systems.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.
