Description OVERVIEW: The Production Manager supervises all prefabrication (prefab) shop personnel, taking ultimate accountability for project or subset of project. Directs the tasks of staff and participates in prefab work as needed. Compensation: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour depending on experience. General Responsibilities u2022 Maintain open communication lines with all working relationships u2022 Follow up to ensure items for which the job is accountable are performed u2022 Earn and maintain customeru2019s trust u2022 Uphold the core values of the organization u2022 Work well with others to accomplish the mission of the organization and of the job Specific Responsibilities u2022 Communication/Safety/Quality Control u2022 Ensure employees follow policies and procedures, including: o Policies and enforces company cell phone usage o Takes accountability for counseling and correcting employees acting as a witness and raising the flag when something is not right o Ensures employees work safely wearing all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) u2022 Perform daily huddles, safety minutes, roll call and stretch and flex u2022 Manage and correct any grievances or behavior problems u2022 Recommend and supervise any necessary training u2022 Ensure the crew has adequate tools u2022 Take a piece of the overall job on larger projects such as one-line, fire alarm, branch circuits, site lighting, equipment (mechanical or pool, etc). u2022 Read and understand contract documents for project u2022 Maintain a secondary and in some cases third plan u2022 Motivate crew and project u2022 Preplan the project to stay at least two weeks ahead of crew, including: o Orders material and tools for the prefab shop floor, ensuring available for the crew o Acts conscientiously about costs o Orders prefab for jobsite o Keeps a daily to do list o Understands abilities of crew o Schedules and accurately man loads crew communicating with foreman u2022 Prioritize according to the needs of the project and the customer u2022 Take accountability and responsibility for quality control and productivity in area and: o Catch and correct errors o Ensure employees are safe, complete task correctly and then work on speed u2022 Communicate goals for the jobsite to employees working at all levels of Encore Electric, Inc. using the tell-back procedure u2022 Communicate and coordinate with other trades for the project u2022 Lead by example u2022 Orientate employees to safety, logistics and scope on the jobsite u2022 Walk the job with new employees and employees from the office/new hire orientation u2022 Effectively communicate and define employees role with them on the project, ensuring employee understands how they fit into the overall job and how the manager wants their work done u2022 Effectively communicate with superiors u2022 Read and understand basic blueprints u2022 Handle material required for the job u2022 Perform duties as assigned by supervisor u2022 Take accountability for a clean and safe work area u2022 Enforce 50/100 rule o One person can carry no more than 50 lbs., no two people should carry more than 100 lbs. u2022 Enforce 5 second 5 feet rule o All material can be accessed within 5u2019 or 5 seconds u2022 Responsible for overall man loading Other duties as may be assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of: u2022 Abilities of crew Skill in: u2022 Multitasking u2022 Thinking on their feet to overcome, adapt to change scope, schedule and job conditions u2022 Leading and instructing others u2022 Adapting to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information. u2022 Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks u2022 Managing people u2022 Managing complex tasks, breaking them down to their component levels u2022 Effective written and oral communication sufficient to be able to elicit and communicate information and achieve understanding u2022 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, vendors, consultants, management, and employees u2022 Organizing work to accomplish tasks u2022 Reading, writing and math u2022 Prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs u2022 Problem solving u2022 Tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment u2022 Preparing and working with schedules PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: u2022 Driving u2022 Sitting u2022 Climbing u2022 Lifting (up to 50 lbs) u2022 Standing u2022 Stooping u2022 Vision acuity (near and far) REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent is required with a degree in related field being preferred. At least five yearsu2019 experience as a Production Leader in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Green Belt-Six Sigma or higher is preferred. Experience with ISO 9001 Certification and Quality Controller processes and strong managerial experience u2013 lead of team of 30 people is also preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills are required. Completion of Leadership Level I Leadership (Supervision) is a plus.
