Job Description

Job Purpose:Provides retirement community information by greeting residents, families, and other visitors; responding to resident requests; protecting residents from emergencies.Duties: Greets guests and visitors to the facility by asking the nature of their visit; referring them to a resident; referring them to an administrative department. Provides a secure retirement community by maintaining a sign-in log for visitors, and repair and technical service providers; issuing dated security passes. Notifies residents of visitors' arrivals by using the community intercom system. Responds to resident requests by logging or forwarding requests to appropriate service personnel. Operates switchboard by connecting calls, providing information; recording messages for absent residents. Receives monthly apartment rental payments by accepting checks; handling credit card charges; forwarding payments to bookkeeper. Forwards mail by placing resident mail in personal mail boxes; distributing retirement community bulletins to residents; opening facility mail and distributing to administrative personnel; delivering outgoing mail to post office. Conducts emergency drills with staff and residents by announcing and directing fire drills; initiating communication buddy systems; leading disaster plan implementation drills. Maintains resident confidence by keeping personal information confidential.
