Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightThis role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of fluid systems for rockets You will engage in all levels of the design cycle including conceptual design, requirements definition, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support. You will use creative thinking and novel manufacturing solutions to solve complex problems with various fluids systems which include high pressure gas, cryogenic propellant, post combustion product and highly stressed hardware.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Design, deliver, and test routed fluid systems, combustion devices, and fluid control devices.Identify hardware solutions to meet mission requirementsWork with fluid components (i.e. flow meters, instrumentation, valves, pumps etc)Work closely with other groups to ensure your systems work together, resolving issues with calculated riskFollowing design efforts, you will lead and participate in component and system level testing and data analysisDeliver completed designs using best draft practicing per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards along with clear and well documented analysis reportsTravel 25% - 50%Minimum Qualifications:While possessing all the listed skills is beneficial, we value a hunger to learn and master your craft above all. If you share our commitment to excellence and are driven towards mastery, we invite you to join our team.Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineeringStrong application of first principles fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and materials2+ years testing propulsion systems, high pressure gas systems, cryogenic fluids, or equivalent experience from aviation, automotive, or petro-chemical.Solid understanding of fluid test components such as flow meters, instrumentation, pumps and valvesExperience troubleshooting fluids hardwareExperience with data acquisition systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with design and analysis of routed fluid systems, combustion devices, or fluid control devices.Experience with rocket fluids systemsWorking knowledge of cryogenic material properties and testingExperience with CADWorking Knowledge of FEA and CFD.Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles in the detail design of aerospace or equivalent type fluid systems and componentsKnowledge of fabrication, integration processes and quality control relative to tubes/piping and machined componentsCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
