Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Summer School Special Education Paraprofessional. This position provides instructional and other support services in various classroom settings to students under the supervision of a teacher or other professional staff member. This position will require the paraprofessional to support academic, behavioral, language and/or physical needs This position may include assisting/monitoring student(s) with toileting and other physical needs - this includes providing physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location (see toileting definition below) The Summer Program will run from June 1, 2026 through June 25, 2026 at Glacier Ridge. Time will be 7:30am - 12:15pm. Days are Monday-Thursday. Hourly rate is $17.84. There is a $150 bonus if the candidate worked last year's Summer School (2025) in Crystal Lake District 47. Must work the entire summer program.Requirements include:Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval or Paraprofessional License (ELS) from the IL State Board of EducationDefinition of toileting: Due to a child's disability or medical condition, the para must provide physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location. (examples: removing all undergarments, wiping, physically assisting onto and off the toilet area) Walking a child to the bathroom or providing supervision while in the bathroom which does not require physical contact would not be defined as toileting.
