You will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area. A Host/Hostess presents a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The Host/Hostess also greet Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter Guest names into the computer system, show Guests to their table and bid Guests farewell as they leave.Hostess Responsibilities:Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.A knowledge of the menu.Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.Providing great customer service.Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriateHostess Requirements:Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.Does high-quality work while unsupervised.Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.Restaurant experience a plus.We look forward to hearing from you!The Sima Family has owned the 3.5-acre site where Ghost Isle Brewery Bar & Restaurant now sits since the 1950’s when Jim’s grandfather purchased hundreds of acres in New Buffalo, MI. The Brewery overlooks 156 acres of wetlands that was donated by the Sima Family to Chikaming Open Lands, a non-profit organization that now maintains this Michigan state-designated “critical wetlands.”The beautiful, sweeping wetlands view to be enjoyed by patrons of Ghost Isle carries the name “Louis J Sima Great Lakes Marsh,” after Jim’s beloved Grandfather Louis J Sima. “Ghost Island” itself sits to the left and west of the brewery, and takes its name from generations of residents who played there as children and teens, and who claim there is supernatural activity on the island.
