You will work closely with our attorneys handling high volumes of franchisor related transactional work, compliance matters, and otherwise assisting in other departmental matters. Candidates must have extensive experience with drafting legal documents and managing paperwork. You also need to have excellent research skills, be able to multi-task several assignments under tight deadlines and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Westlaw.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrafting, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining various contractual documentsDrafting and reviewing various legal communicationsConducting research and creating reports and documents for lawyers based on case specifications and requestsOrganizing and managing documents, including the creation of spreadsheets and retrieval systemsCompiling information and preparing statistical charts, graphs and other summaries to detail findingsCoordinating the collection, review and production of documents and responding to discovery requests and subpoenasDeveloping and following an indexing system that can be used as an active archive for all ongoing and completed contracts and casesResearching case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sourcesMonitoring changes to laws, guidelines, or regulations; submitting reports on pertinent changes in legislationUtilizing existing files and a variety of other legal research resources to develop information for pending matters/questionsConducting background screens on franchising candidatesObtaining signatures on and managing executable contractsThis role requires you to work in Dallas-based officeWe are not offering relocation assistanceRequirements and QualificationsAssociate degree in paralegal studies required; bachelor’s degree preferredNational certification, such as those offered by NALA or AACP, is a plus2-3 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm or in-house settingProficient in Microsoft Office and WestlawExcellent communication and organization skillsExperience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal correspondence
