Senior Claim SpecialistCasualty- The Auto Club Group Report to: Claim Manager II What you willdo: In this position, you will have the opportunity to: Review assignedclaims, contact the insured and other affected parties, set expectationsfor the remainder of the claim process, and initiate documentation inthe claim handling system. Complete coverage analysis on the mostcomplex claims. Handle large loss injury claims. Ensure all possiblepolicyholder benefits are identified. Create additional sub-claims ifneeded. Complete an investigation of the facts regarding the claim tofurther and in more detail determine if the claim should be paid, theapplicable limits or exclusions and possible recovery potential. Conductthorough reviews of damages and determine the applicability of state lawand other factors related to the claim. Evaluate the financial value ofthe loss. Approve payments for the appropriate parties accordingly.Refer claims to other company units when necessary (e.g., Underwriting,Recovery Units or Claims Special Investigation Unit). Thoroughlydocument and/or code the claim file and complete all claim closure andrelated activities in the assigned claims management system. Utilizestrong negotiating skills. Senior Claim Specialists are assignedLiability/BI/MedPay/Non-MI PIP/HO Liability/UM/UIM claims involvinglitigation/arbitration. The Senior Claim Specialists handle the mostcomplex claims involving liability disputes, bodily injuries, andcoverage questions.
