Job Title: Operator Job Description The Bakery Operator is responsible for managing various equipment in production and packaging, ensuring smooth operation and quality product output. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the operator coordinates a team of Bakery associates to support the production line. The role involves running specific equipment proficiently, adhering to product specifications, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities + Ensure adherence to all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations. + Monitor product quality and ensure specifications are met. + Assist with training and cross-training of team members. + Provide break rotations and lunches to employees as needed. + Continuously improve knowledge of products and production requirements. + Maintain cleanliness and proper placement of equipment, raw materials, and waste during and after production runs. + Monitor finished product quality to reduce defects and increase throughput. + Communicate with team members and supervisors to resolve operational challenges and improve efficiencies. + Perform routine safety checks to maintain a safe workspace. Essential Skills + Production and GMP knowledge. + Experience as a baking associate. + General labor skills in picking and packing. + Familiarity with bakery and warehouse production. + Understanding of food handling and preparation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED required. + Must be 18 years or older. + Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English. + Capability to work overtime and weekends if needed. + Physical ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously without assistance. + Ability to stand for 8u201312 hours per shift and perform repetitive tasks. + Experience in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels. + Compliance with PPE and GMP guidelines. + Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or related environment. + Familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment. + High mechanical aptitude with prior work experience. + Basic troubleshooting skills. + Experience with GMPs, Food Safety, and Company Safety policies. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Effective communication and direction-following skills. + Ability to read and understand machine manuals, SOPs, and production orders. + Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing environment with GMP standards. The workspace can be very hot and loud, requiring fast-paced work.
