Description We are looking for a skilled Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Spokane, Washington. This role is centered on litigation, including collaboration with claims professionals and external legal counsel. The ideal candidate will also handle a variety of municipal-related legal tasks, providing valuable insights and guidance to internal departments and stakeholders. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage litigation processes, collaborating with outside counsel and claims professionals to ensure effective case handling. u2022 Conduct in-depth legal research and provide both oral and written guidance on municipal and administrative matters. u2022 Draft legal documents such as ordinances, regulations, contracts, and proposed legislation tailored to organizational needs. u2022 Review, draft, and support the administration of contracts and procurement activities. u2022 Monitor and analyze changes in state and federal laws, as well as court decisions, ensuring compliance and advising stakeholders on necessary adjustments. u2022 Offer strategic legal advice to boards, commissions, and internal departments to aid decision-making. u2022 Prepare and file legal motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documentation. u2022 Oversee discovery processes, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in gathering evidence. u2022 Develop strategies to address complex civil litigation cases effectively. Requirements u2022 Must hold a valid license to practice law. u2022 Proven experience in civil litigation and related legal processes. u2022 Strong drafting skills for motions, briefs, ordinances, and contracts. u2022 Comprehensive understanding of municipal law and administrative procedures. u2022 Proficiency in conducting legal research and analyzing complex legal issues. u2022 Ability to monitor legal developments and ensure organizational compliance. u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for delivering clear legal guidance. u2022 Familiarity with discovery procedures and evidence-gathering methods.
