Locations: Mobile, Alabama Categories: Research Job Type: Non-Faculty Position Type: Full-Time Department: Schl Fisheries Aquac Aquat Sci Associated Division: College of Agriculture Req ID: 7958 Overview Position is located at Auburn University Shellfish Laboratory, Dauphin Island, AL Assist AUSL facility manager and director with conducting and managing shellfish research projects, production of shellfish for research, general maintenance of production and lab facilities and shellfish farm sites. Assist with data management of research projects. Position continuation dependent on funding. Responsibilities + Assists in the development of project proposals, plans and protocols. + Conducts routine or fundamental experiments, investigations and/or studies related to programs and projects in pursuit of new knowledge, techniques and concepts. + Assists with logistical considerations to include equipment, materials, and labor needs. + Collects data/samples related to others' research and in routine cases. + Records, compiles, processes and analyzes data/samples. + Documents results and observations in writing as well as presenting results to others. + May assist in the preparation of research results for publication or presentation at conferences to include assisting in literature reviews and assisting in the writing of results and discussions. + May instruct students and/or supervise others' research in area of expertise. Qualifications Level I Bachelor's degree in content specific area of research Level II Bachelor's degree in content specific area of research and 2 years of experience in research practices and protocols Level III Bachelor's degree in content specific area of research and 4 years of experience in research practices and protocols Substitution allowed for Experience: When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
