Temporary/Permanent: PermanentOther Conditions:One position to be filled; if there are no qualified applicants at the Band B level, applicants for the Band A level will be considered.Duties and Responsibilities (*denotes essential functions):Pay Band AService Administration*Efficiently and accurately executes financial aid processes to provide needy and/or qualified students with financial assistance to attain their educational goals.*Works in collaboration with Enrollment Management staff and others to create, propose, implement, and evaluate strategies, services, programs, and activities aimed to helping students address financial issues that may serve as barriers.*Assists in planning, operating, and evaluating financial aid programs and veterans' benefits ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines of the federal government, state government, and University.*Tracks student financial assistance and academic enrollment histories and the impact of past histories on continued eligibility to receive financial aid and veterans' benefits in the future.This includes but is not limited to evaluating student compliance with satisfactory academic progress; and ensuring course relevance to declared program of study as specified by federal, state, and University regulations, rules, policies, and procedures.*Promulgates, implements, and evaluates student enrollment and academic performance against financial assistance criteria and responding with adjusted financial aid awards and veterans' benefits as allowed. This includes, but is not limited to performing verification reviews, award revisions, and loan originations; liaising with Banner Central, General Accounting & Loan Collection, System Financial Aid, and other offices to maintain online financial aid modules and veterans' benefits aid information systems of Banner and STAR.*Provides services to students to better understand financial aid and veterans' benefits and receive advice for appropriate follow up steps by students. This includes, but is not limited to the scheduling and conduct of workshops, informational sessions, etc. for students new to the campus, continuing students, and prospective students; outreach visits to high schools and community locales to increase awareness of financial assistance opportunities, sources, etc.andto encourage completion of FAFSA and other applications for assistance including veterans' benefits; the development and execution of communication plans and promotional materials, including management of the content and formats of web pages and other social media and responding to inquiries in a timely manner face to face, in writing, via email, phone, and other media.Reviews special consideration situations, offering guidance and professional judgment in financial and academic matters as they relate to satisfactory academic progress, complete withdrawals, course enrollment changes, return to Title IV aid (R2T4), default management, budgeting, loan repayment, loan exits, dependency override, etc.Assists Enrollment Management Team with events related to the application, enrollment, and matriculation of prospective, accepted,and enrolled students.Administrative Services*Assists in managing facilities, services and operations related to federal financial aid, state financial aid, institutional financial aid, private scholarships, veterans' benefits, etc. This includes, but is not limited to providing accurate information to inquires regarding financial assistance and enrollment processes in a professional, articulate, and timely manner via face to face, written, email and telephone interactions; exemplifying “service centered on the student” approach when responding to requests and inquiries; serving as school certifying official for veterans’ benefits on behalf of the institution; maintaining student records and files for required transmission to national computer databases for financial aid and veterans’ benefits and creating and up-keeping are source library of current literature, manuals, reference materials, and forms in order to accurately interpret and apply federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.*Assists with recruitment, interviewing, selection, counseling, training, supervision and evaluation of professional, classified, paraprofessional, intern, practicum and student assistant staff or relevant student enrollment programs.*Assists with budgetary direction and accountability for delegated accounts. This includes, but is not limited to verifying recipient disbursements, reconciling Title IV programs on a regular basis including resolving discrepancies among Business Office, COD, and financial aid office; reconciling and reporting Pell disbursements to USDOE; researching and resolving discrepancies to student accounts; and contacting others to resolve potential overpayments; and determining on a timely basis R2T4 calculations, reporting payments repayments, and overpayments to COD and NSLDS, and adjusting for refunds through federal student loan programs.*Assists in preparing and submitting annual fiscal, programmatic, and other reports required by federal, state, institutional, or private agencies, offices, etc.Develops, interprets, implements and revises, as needed, appropriate policies, procedures, and operational manuals governing assigned programs, facilities and services, working with others to review and evaluate such policies and procedures.Collaborates with Communications in the concept development and production of all outreach materials, brochures and literature used for student financial aid.OtherProvides management skills and knowledge to include serving in absence of supervisor as requested.Assumes other related duties as assignedOther duties as assignedPay Band BService Administration*Exercise administrative responsibility for the efficient and accurate execution of financial aid processes to provide needy and/or qualified students with financial assistance to attain their educational goals.*Work in collaboration with others to create, propose, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive variety of strategies, services, programs, and activities directed toward helping students address financial issues and meeting their financial needs.*Plan, administer, and evaluate financial aid programs ensuring compliance withlaws,regulations, policies, and guidelines of the federal government, state government, and University. or equivalent education/training or experience.Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in student financial aid or student affairs administration as demonstrated by knowledge,understanding and ability to apply concepts,terminology.Functional knowledge and understanding of principles,theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with financial aid or student affairs administration.Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the workplace.Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures,and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.Pay Band BPossession of a baccalaureate degree in business administration, management, social sciences, education or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing educational services or assistance to students, including student financial aid administration student affairs administration, or provision of administrative, operational and technical support;
