JOB DESCRIPTION This position has the ability to report remotely out of AMP's footprint or work a hybrid schedule out of Columbus, OH Position Title: Member Consulting Reports To: Senior Vice President of Generation Operations and Power Supply FLSA Status: Exempt Basic Functions: Foster Member relationships, with a focus on smaller AMP Members, develop and conduct Member needs assessments and provide Members with information on AMP and other resources to help achieve their local goals (note that needs may include water/sewer or broader municipal functions); help advance AMPu2019s Member Success Strategic Plan initiatives. Essential Functions: This position provides the following essential functions, both internally and externally for AMP and its Members: 1. Participate as a key member of the Member Success Strategic Plan team. 2. Lead efforts to finalize an AMP Member needs assessment and management health check analysis process designed to determine gap areas and needs tailored by Member community in such areas as workforce recruiting/retention, strategic planning, cybersecurity, billing, budgeting, training and customer outreach. 3. Lead efforts to develop a pilot program for proof of concept for AMP to support the administration and management of Member communities with identified needs. 4. Coordinate with AMP Principal Contacts and appropriate AMP subject matter experts to perform the needs assessment and management health-check. Serve as a point of contact and sounding board for Members seeking local assistance in the management and operation of their system. 5. Analyze Member rate structures as requested u2013 independently or in coordination with Member rate consultants u2013 to ensure appropriate best practices are being met. 6. Coordinate Member educational opportunities on best practices in the areas of rates and management trends. 7. Foster relationships with identified Members to assist with the implementation of the Member Success Strategic Plan initiatives. 8. Perform regular visits to identified Member communities to strengthen relationships and encourage joint action activities. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications: 1. A minimum of a four-year engineering or business-related degree is required. 2. Must have 15 or more years of experience in the public power utility industry, including management and governing board relationship responsibilities. Experience with small- to medium-sized public power systems strongly preferred. 3. Must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of electric utility standards, budgeting, cost of service studies, rate implementation, procedures, operations, load management and power supply. 4. Must possess proven management skills and technical expertise in the day-to-day activities of public power systems. 5. Experience with water and wastewater utilities strongly preferred. 6. Experience with rate studies preferred. 7. Must be able to foster unity of purpose and joint action activity between the Members and between Members and AMP. 8. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have experience in public speaking and preparing written communications. 9. Must be a self-starter and a team player. 10. Requires travel throughout the AMP Member footprint.
