Description This Position is responsible for major accounting and financial reporting operations of the Agency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. In cooperation with senior management and Program Directors, responsible for creating annual program and agency budgets. 2. Responsible for monthly invoice preparation to major funders. 3. Responsible for creating journal entries to transfer semi-monthly payroll data into QuickBooks. 4. Responsible for posting monthly revenue of major funders. 5. Review monthly financial statements to look for any inconsistencies from one month to the next. 6. Prepare monthly financial reports for senior management, Board of Directors, and Program Directors. 7. Assist the CFO in overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. 8. Maintain depreciation and fixed assets schedules. 9. Assist with all outside audit requests (including major funders: City, County, State, and others). 10. Work with outside CPA auditor in preparing annual audit, ensuring that filings (including 5500 and 990 tax statements) are complete. 11. Assist the CFO in preparing and maintaining contract budgets with City, County, State, and other funders. 12. Prepare annual property tax exemption letters (as a non-profit, the agency is exempt from this tax). 13. Maintain relationship with our banker. 14. Process monthly bank reconciliations. 15. Uphold Core Beliefs of SMRS. 16. Uphold all Agency policies and procedures. 17. Assist in ensuring an alcohol and other drug free environment. 18. All other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bacheloru2019s Degree in Accounting with four yearsu2019 experience. Language and Communication Skills 1. Excellent verbal and writing skills; ability to read and write English fluently. 2. Ability to speak effectively before senior management, the Board of Directors, and funding (City, County State, and other) auditors. 3. Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office software.
