Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to observe, detect, and address hazards, problems, and service needs in electrical, electronic, and mechanical components. This role involves reading and interpreting schematics, assembling prototype models, and troubleshooting complex systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Responsibilities + Observe the functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and service needs. + Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff. + Read and understand electronic and electrical/mechanical schematics. + Draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units. + Assemble experimental circuitry of complete prototype models. + Recommend changes in circuitry to simplify assembly and maintenance. + Troubleshoot and repair solid-state motor drives, temperature controllers, and computer-based controllers. + Set up test apparatus and conduct functional and operational tests. + Analyze and interpret data from troubleshooting equipment. + Adjust, calibrate, and align circuitry and components. + Record effects on unit performance. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 yearsu2019 experience in a PLC or Maintenance Mechanic role in an industrial environment. + Strong engineering and technical skills including PLC, Electrical, and Mechanical skills. + Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations. + Proficient in using electrical test instrumentation. + Good communication skills for working with plant personnel and vendors. + Good analytical and problem-solving ability. + Understanding of Continuous improvement methods. + Computer skills (MS Office, HMI, Control Logic). + Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programming/troubleshooting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Required to maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices. + Ability to check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance. + Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial lift platform licenses. + Ability to keep work area clean and orderly, free of hazards. Some departments, like the Mixing department, can be very dirty and involve working with chemicals like carbon black. PPE is offered but not required. The Curing department can be very hot, working with molds. Other areas are clean and climate-controlled. The facility is equipped with bikes to facilitate easy movement between departments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
