Job Description Note: Only those serving in the permanent civil service title of Staff Analyst will be considered. The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. This accomplishment requires a steadfast and daily commitment to maintaining the Department's core values. FDNY seeks a full-time Grants Analyst in the Grants Management Office (GMO). Reporting directly to the Grants Claims Coordinator, the successful candidate will: Develop and prepare financial reports of grant expenditures for reimbursement. This work involves reviewing payroll activity for Personal Services (PS) related expenditures, along with invoices and purchase orders for equipment and/or professional services and preparing and submitting reports to funders. In addition, the Grants Analyst will prepare estimates of expenditure activity and handle budget modifications of grant-related budget lines. The Grants Analyst will review statistical and budgetary data provided by Fiscal Services to ensure proper expenditures are being claimed under federal grants; and will prepare monthly summary reports and quarterly financial reports. Finally, the Grants Analyst will provide ongoing assistance to various bureaus and oversight agencies, regarding claims submitted for reimbursement. STAFF ANALYST - 12626 Qualifications A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full- time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.
